Format poaching
Somewhere in this world I have a Fediverse account with a really long character limit. I was using that as a blog for a few weeks, but I decided to renew this one and use it again. I used this format for titles, it’s simply the date and time I started writing it.
I use the format dd.mm.yyyy-hh:mm, you can flip those all around and make it more correct. In Europe they like dd.mm.yyyy, and then there are the total weirdos who use yyyy/mm/dd for some reason. That’s one of the formats for UTC but I wish I could just get the second count, which is what is actually used and then formated with functions so humans can read.
To-do’s I did
I did taxes and that was stupid because it’s easy, but still has a bunch of stress and anxiety with it for no reason. At some point in my life I’d had to write a very large check for taxes and doing taxes still rattles me decades later.
I went through the PW manager and cleaned it up. I discovered really annoying things while I did that. For instance, electronic arts sucks. They have the worst security procedure possible. Well the second worse. Then there is Evernote which I haven’t used in a very long time is somehow now subscription, which is okay, but I don’t use it and haven’t for a long time, so I’m not paying for something like that. If I used it, maybe, 15 years ago I used it all the time, now, not at all. So I deleted that. I deleted about 20 accounts today. Too many make it difficult to keep track of it all. I did set 2FA or MFA where I could. I like hard ware keys, but Google and Microsoft and Apple are trying to steel that market with passkeys. Passkeys are okay, but hardware keys are stronger. Use either wherever you can. I archived it and backed it up which requires a USB and at least 2 passwords.
I found out the laptop sucks and it’s WiFi driver trashes the network, so that was good 😭. It sucked. I kind of hate the thing anyway, but it’s useful for basic things and let’s me have the versatility I need. The Chromebook looks better, works better and also has a locked down bios. So I can’t do things like boot from a USB, which makes it suck. If it did that, I’d be cool with it completely. But it can’t, so I’m stuck. Whatever.
I did laundry and cooked off food that needs to be cooked. I have too much, but whatever. I really hate that eggs are as stupidly priced as they are. Nowhere near me is cheaper than $10 a dozen. I live in a resort town, so they screw us on food and gas prices. Whatever you pay for food, unless you live near me or on an Island or some other resort trap, I pay about 20% more for everything. In the summer it’s fun to watch the Air BnB people freak out because it’s so much more.
It snowed and then rained. The dog is pissed off. He wants to go outside and watch the neighborhood , but he can’t because it was snowing and now it’s raining. Snow doesn’t bug him, he’s got a good coat for that. Rain sucks. He hates it, he would tolerate it, but he can’t hang outside when it rains and when he does go out he has to get wiped down and dried off with a towel, which he really dislikes.
And I wanted to write a blog entry, so I’ve done that as I’m currently doing it and am almost finished. Well I’m finished.
